Consultation Meeting on the 2027 Local Development Drive Programme Held

A consultation meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Governor of Bartın, Dr. Nurtaç Arslan, to evaluate the priority investment topics planned to be supported in Bartın in 2027 within the scope of the Local Development Drive Programme carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

The meeting, held at the Governorship's 15 July Martyrs Meeting Hall, was attended by AK Parti Member of Parliament Yusuf Ziya Aldatmaz, Mayor Rıza Yalçınkaya, Rector of Bartın University Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya, the Chairperson of the Provincial General Council, the AK Parti Provincial Chairperson, the Provincial Director of Industry and Technology, the Chairperson of the Young Businesspeople Association, the Chairperson of the Bartın Union of Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, the Chairperson of the Bartın Branch of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association, the Secretary General of the Western Black Sea Development Agency, and directors of the relevant institutions.

At the meeting, which was also attended by the President of the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Halil Balık, Bartın's current economic structure, investment potential, sectoral development areas and the implementation processes of the investment topics determined for 2025-2026 were evaluated in line with the main objectives of the Local Development Drive Programme. In addition, investment areas planned to be supported in 2027 were discussed, such as nature-based tourism investments, industrial forest products, quality city hotel services, building materials production, plastic, rubber and composite-based product manufacturing, value-added food production, advanced technology-based manufacturing, modern greenhouse farming and regional trade centres.

Making statements after the meeting, the President of the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Halil Balık, stated that the Local Development Drive Programme offers an important opportunity for developing Bartın's investment and production capacity.

President Balık said: "We need to turn the potential Bartın possesses into economic value through the right investments. We must focus in particular on investments that are high in added value, sustainable and compatible with our province's economic structure. It is of great importance that the investment areas determined for 2027 be shaped in line with Bartın's needs, its potential and its future economic goals."

Stating that local development will be strengthened through the joint work and cooperation of public institutions, local governments, the university, the business community and civil society organisations, Balık said: "As the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we will continue to fulfil our responsibility in strengthening our province's investment environment, supporting our entrepreneurs and creating new investment areas. I believe that, with shared wisdom and strong cooperation, we can take Bartın's economic potential to a more advanced level."
