Happy 23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day
The President of Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Halil Balık, issued a celebratory message on the occasion of 23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day.
In his message, Balık said:
“On the 106th anniversary of the founding of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, which was established by the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, entrusted by him to the great Turkish Nation to be protected and kept alive, and which forms the cornerstone of the modern Republic of Türkiye, we feel the joy and pride of celebrating 23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day as a nation.
Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's gift of this meaningful day, on which the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye was opened, to children is the strongest expression of the deep trust he placed in our children, who are the guarantee of our future, and of the value he attached to them.
It is of great importance for the protection of our national unity and solidarity that our children, who will build our future, grow up with an awareness of this historical heritage. For a strong future is only possible through a proper understanding of a deeply rooted past.
Our duty is to keep this meaningful legacy alive and to raise our children as individuals who are open to science and developing technologies; who read, question, research and think together with them; who are honest, hardworking and successful; who respect democracy and human rights; and who love their homeland and their nation. I have complete confidence that our children, the light of our future, will carry our country to brighter tomorrows with their curiosity for knowledge and their strong will.
With these feelings and thoughts, I remember with mercy and gratitude our esteemed martyrs, beginning with Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who sacrificed their lives for the independence, unity and integrity of our homeland, and our heroic veterans who have passed into eternity; and I sincerely celebrate the 23 April National Sovereignty and Children's Day of our nation and of our precious children who give this day its meaning," he said.
