Bartın TSO Is Among the Main Sponsors of Bilimfest Bartın

Bilimfest Bartın, organized by Bartın University with the support of TÜBİTAK and with the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry among its main sponsors, welcomed more than 20,000 visitors on its opening day and attracted great interest in science and technology.

The opening programme of the festival, hosted by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya, Rector of Bartın University, was attended by Dr. Nurtaç Arslan, Governor of Bartın, and the provincial protocol, as well as Halil Balık, Chairman of the Board of Bartın TSO, Board Member Necati Sandıkcı, Mine Fırıncıoğlu, Chair of the Bartın Women Entrepreneurs Board, and the board members.

Bilimfest Bartın, held by Bartın University (BARÜ) at the Kutlubey Campus from 15 to 17 October 2026, brings science, technology and innovation together with all segments of society. As the first science festival of this scale organised in the city, the event brings together participants from different age groups and ranks among the important science and technology events of the Western Black Sea Region.

Chairman Halil Balık: "Investment in science and technology is an investment in the future"

Halil Balık, Chairman of the Board of Bartın TSO, noted that Bilimfest Bartın is an important event for raising scientific awareness in the city and supporting young people's interest in technology, and made the following remarks:

"Science and technology play an important role in the development of countries and in strengthening their competitiveness. We find events of this kind, which in particular develop our young people's scientific thinking skills and encourage them to research, discover and produce, extremely valuable. It is a source of satisfaction for our city that Bilimfest Bartın brings citizens of all ages together with science and technology.

As the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in addition to activities that contribute to the economic and social development of our province, we also attach importance to supporting initiatives in the fields of education, science, technology and innovation. With this understanding, we are pleased to be among the main sponsors of Bilimfest Bartın. We thank our Bartın University, TÜBİTAK and all stakeholders who contributed to organising the festival, and I wish that the event will be beneficial for our young people and for our Bartın."
