Bartın TSO Attended the YÖREX Fair
The Regional Products Fair (YÖREX), organized under the leadership of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye and hosted by the Antalya Commodity Exchange, opened its doors for the 14th time. The President of the Board of Directors of Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Halil Balık, Assembly President Hüseyin Çalıkoğlu, Vice President of the Board of Directors Salim Cem Yıldız, Board Treasurer Hasan Ufuk, and Board Members Necati Sandıkcı and Yücel Oğullar attended the fair, where regional products from all over Türkiye are exhibited.
Speaking at the opening of the fair, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that YÖREX has become an important platform for preserving and promoting local values and turning them into economic value. Noting that the fair has contributed greatly to the branding of regional products and to raising awareness of geographical indications, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the number of geographically indicated products in Türkiye has increased significantly in recent years, exceeding 1,800.
At the programme, which pointed out that YÖREX attracts attention not only nationally but also internationally, it was stated that products unique to Türkiye have also been appreciated by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and that the number of products receiving geographical indication registration from the European Union is steadily increasing.
The Bartın TSO delegation held meetings and examined on site the work aimed at the branding of local products, increasing their added value and developing their export potential within the scope of the fair. It was assessed that regional products finding a greater place in both the domestic market and international markets is critically important for regional development, increased employment and, in particular, the support of women's entrepreneurship.
The YÖREX Fair, which will welcome visitors until 26 April, continues to contribute to local development by bringing together the cultural and economic values of Türkiye's seven regions.
