Under the chairmanship of the Governor of Bartın, Dr. Nurtaç Arslan, a contract signing ceremony was held for the projects found successful under the Technical Support Program for the Branding of Local Products, carried out by the Western Black Sea Development Agency (BAKKA).
At the ceremony held in the 15 July Martyrs Meeting Hall, contracts were signed for projects that will contribute to the branding, commercialization and integration into the tourism sector of the region's local assets, notably Bartın Wire Breaking and Wire Wrapping, Yenice Linden Honey and Eskipazar Yellow Travertine Stone.
The "Bartın Wire Breaking Added Value and Commercialization" project, prepared by the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was also among the projects entitled to receive support. Prepared with the aim of turning the art of wire breaking, one of Bartın's important cultural heritages, into economic value, increasing production capacity and reaching wider markets, the project aims to contribute to local development.
The Chairman of the Board of the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Halil Balık, also attended the contract signing ceremony and signed the project contract.
Speaking after the ceremony, Bartın CCI Chairman of the Board Halil Balık said: "It is of great importance to preserve Bartın's cultural and economic assets and carry them into the future. Wire breaking is one of our province's important traditional handicrafts. With the 'Bartın Wire Breaking Added Value and Commercialization' project, we aim to contribute to the branding of this asset, to the support of our producers and to the promotion of our products in wider markets. I wish that our project may bring good fortune to our Bartın, our producers and our region. I thank our esteemed Governor Dr. Nurtaç Arslan and the Western Black Sea Development Agency for their support."
It was stated that, as Bartın CCI, work will continue to bring local assets into economic development and to strengthen regional brands.
