Carbon Footprint Analyses Carried Out in Bartın OSB within the Scope of the CLUSTWIN Project

Within the scope of the CLUSTWIN Project (Contributing to Regional Sustainability by Building Inter-Chamber Cooperation through a Twin Transition-Oriented Cluster), which is supported by the European Union and coordinated by the Kocaeli Chamber of Industry, with the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a project partner, site visits were carried out to project stakeholder companies operating in the Bartın Organized Industrial Zone.

Within the scope of the site visits carried out under the coordination of the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry, visits were made to BARMAK and ÖZ-MADEŞ Madeni Eşya Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., the companies for which carbon footprint studies are being conducted within the project.

During the visits, carbon footprint analyses were carried out for the companies by Cenk Türker of ESG Turkey Danışmanlık, who is involved in the project, and the carbon footprint studies for both companies were completed. Sena Kasapoğlu, Foreign Trade, Accreditation and Project Officer at the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also took part in the site work.

The carbon footprint analyses carried out within the scope of the CLUSTWIN Project aim to determine the companies' current emissions, support sustainable production processes and contribute to improving the companies' environmental performance in line with twin transition goals.

Following the site visits, a visit was paid to Halil Balık, Chairman of the Board of the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and assessments were made regarding the work carried out within the project and the site practices. The meeting addressed strengthening the adaptation of businesses in Bartın to green and digital transformation processes, spreading the sustainable production approach, and the contributions that the work to be carried out within the project will make to the region's industry.

Through the work carried out within the scope of the CLUSTWIN Project, the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry continues its efforts to develop the capacities of businesses in the region in the areas of green transformation, carbon management, sustainable production and digital transformation.
