An information meeting on the Employment Protection Support Program, implemented by KOSGEB, was held at the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The program was attended by Bartın TSO Chairman of the Board Halil Balık, KOSGEB Bartın Provincial Director Gökhan Akdağoğlu and Chamber members.
Delivering the opening speech of the meeting, Bartın TSO Chairman of the Board Halil Balık stated that protecting employment is of great importance for the sustainability of businesses, and that the effective use of government support by the business community contributes to the development of businesses. Balık said that, as the Chamber, they will continue to hold information meetings so that members can access accurate and up-to-date information on public support.
In the presentation given by KOSGEB Bartın Provincial Director Gökhan Akdağoğlu as part of the program, detailed information was shared on the purpose, scope, application conditions and support components of the Employment Protection Support Program.
Akdağoğlu stated that the main purpose of the program is to protect and increase employment in manufacturing industry sectors, and that the program will be implemented for 12 months between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2026. Noting that the program covers all manufacturing sector businesses within NACE Section C, Akdağoğlu stated that businesses can use loans under the program through financial institutions with which protocols have been signed.
According to the information given in the presentation, the loan amount that businesses may use will be determined so as not to exceed the monthly average of the total earnings subject to premiums declared in the withholding tax and premium and service returns for November and December 2025, and the upper loan limit will be applied as a maximum of TL 50 million per business. It was stated that the loans must be used in a single instalment and as a single lump sum, and that the loan may be drawn down by the end of June 2026 at the latest.
Noting that the programme includes two different types of support, Akdağoğlu said that financing support will be provided to businesses operating in labour-intensive sectors. He stated that, in particular, sectors engaged in the manufacture of textile products, wearing apparel, leather and related products, furniture, and products such as jeans and similar press buttons, snap fasteners and zippers will be able to benefit from the support.
Akdağoğlu, conveying that financing support will be provided to manufacturing industry businesses outside the labour-intensive sectors, stated that programme applications will be accepted between 3 March and 30 April 2026 and that the final date for payment requests is 31 March 2027.
In the question-and-answer session held after the presentation, Chamber members received information from Gökhan Akdağoğlu, KOSGEB Bartın Provincial Director, on the topics they were curious about regarding the programme.
The meeting concluded after thanks were extended to the participants and mutual assessments were made.
