Keeping the Art of Telkırma Alive on the Women Entrepreneurs Board's 2026 Agenda

The Women Entrepreneurs Board of the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited Özlem Koçak, Bartın Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism.

During the visit, topics concerning the promotion, marketing and sustainable production of telkırma and telsarma handicrafts, which are among Bartın's geographically indicated cultural heritage, were addressed. In the meeting, activities that could be undertaken to involve women entrepreneurs producing in this field more effectively in the process and to turn handcraft labour into economic value were assessed.

Protecting the art of telkırma, increasing its visibility and turning it into a lasting field of production for women entrepreneurs will be among the priority work items within the scope of the Women Entrepreneurs Board's 2026 activities.
