Visit from the Bartın Revenue Office to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the Occasion of Tax Week

A delegation consisting of Ahmet DEMİRBAĞ, Bartın Chief Revenue Officer, and department heads, which has been visiting public institutions and organisations and civil society organisations that are taxpayers across the province, visited the management of Bartın TSO in the President's office. The delegation was received by Halil Balık, Chairman of the Board, Hüseyin Çalıkoğlu, President of the Assembly, S. Cem Yıldız, Vice Chairman of the Board, and Ahmet İncekara, Secretary General of the Chamber. Providing information on the occasion of the 36th Tax Week this year, Chief Revenue Officer Demirbağ stated that they would visit taxpayers throughout the week and listen to their requests. He also emphasised that taxation is a service directed at us, and that it should be recognised that fulfilling this duty fully and on time translates into better roads, schools, transportation, communication, hospitals and many more services.

Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, President Halil Balık stated that tax is one of the most fundamental sources of revenue for the state and that a fair and sustainable tax system is needed for economic growth. Balık said, "Tax awareness and the habit of paying taxes are more widespread in developed countries, and this is counted among the criteria of development between countries. Aiming to support the development and progress of our country, we must also fully carry out our share of the duty in bringing the economy into the formal system. The informal economy and informal employment cause great harm both to our country and to our companies that abide by the rules."

The visit ended with the exchange of mutual good wishes and the hope that cooperation aimed at raising tax awareness would continue.
