Official Letter to the Kumluca Municipality on Preventing Unlicensed Activity and Unregistered Production
An official initiative has been taken with the Kumluca Municipality as part of the fight against unregistered production.
As a result of the field visits carried out by the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry with our members and the feedback meetings held, findings have been conveyed to our Chamber that unlicensed activities are being carried out and unregistered production is taking place within the boundaries of the Kumluca town, in various fields, chiefly the furniture, wood, timber and forest products sectors.
It has been assessed that these activities lead to consequences such as commercial and production activity being carried out without a workplace opening and operating license, consumer safety being put at risk by informal backstreet production, pressure of unfair competition on officially operating businesses, and adverse effects on the local economic order.
In this framework, so that our members can conduct their commercial activities in a healthy and fair competitive environment in compliance with legislation, and in order to protect order in the local economy and reduce informality, the requests that inspections in the relevant sectors be increased and that the necessary administrative measures be applied where unlicensed businesses are identified were conveyed to the Kumluca Municipality by official letter.
The Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry continues, within the framework of the legislation and with a sense of institutional responsibility, its work to convey the structural problems faced by its members to the relevant institutions and to contribute to their resolution.
