Official Letter to the Kurucaşile District Governorate Forest Management Directorate Concerning the Investment Request for Kurucaşile Stone Sac Production
An official application has been submitted regarding the permits and procedures for the investment process for Kurucaşile Stone Sheet production.
Investment work is being carried out by the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry in order to increase the production capacity of the "Kurucaşile Stone Sac", a product registered with a geographical indication under Industrial Property Law No. 6769, to strengthen its promotion at national and international levels, and to provide added value to the regional economy.
In this context, it is planned to carry out facility and infrastructure investments for the extraction of the stone that constitutes the raw material of the product and for the production process, on a certain portion of an area of forest character located within the boundaries of Curunlu Neighborhood in the Kurucaşile district of Bartın province.
With regard to the planned investment process, we have requested to be informed about how the permit procedures for stone extraction and investment on the relevant parcel will be conducted; the scope of the documents to be prepared by our Chamber, such as the application file, technical report, survey, maps and expert examination; the procedures and principles of preliminary permits, final permits, easement rights, leasing or allocation processes for site use; and the procedures to be carried out with the General Directorate of Forestry and its affiliated units.
Considering the traditional production methods, mineralogical properties and geographical indication protection of the Kurucaşile Stone Sac, it is assessed that the investment in question will make significant contributions to the regional economy, employment and the preservation of cultural heritage.
The Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry continues its efforts to strengthen the production infrastructure of region-specific products and to realize sustainable investments in cooperation with the relevant institutions.
