Request for Evaluation of Branch Opening Costs Submitted to the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye
An evaluation of the effect of branch opening costs on SMEs has been requested.
In applications submitted to the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry, feedback has been received that commercial enterprises wish to open branches in order to operate in different districts and create new employment, but that the total costs encountered in the branch registration process constitute a significant burden, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises.
It is stated that, as of 2025, the expenses related to branch opening applied by the Trade Registry Directorates consist of items such as the commercial enterprise and trade name registration fee, registration of persons authorized to represent, the certification fee and announcement fees; and that, in addition, the registration fees and undertaking charges applied in the Chamber registration process further increase the total cost.
In the evaluations received from our members, it has been stated that these costs make it difficult for enterprises to decide to scale up, delay new investment plans and have become a limiting factor for branch openings. Supporting branch openings is important both for increasing local commercial activity and for strengthening economic diversity across the province.
In this context, the view that it would be beneficial to consider, in the processes for determining the 2026 Trade Registry fees and charges, an approach that could help make branch opening costs more accessible for SMEs has been conveyed to the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye.
It has been requested that evaluations on the matter and any guidance deemed appropriate be communicated to our Chamber.
