Statement of Views to the İŞKUR Bartın Provincial Directorate on Personnel Needs and Vocational Training Activities
The sectors in need of personnel and vocational training requests have been communicated to the İŞKUR Bartın Provincial Directorate.
At the Provincial Employment and Vocational Training Board meeting held on 30 October 2025, our Chamber examined the assessments concerning vocational training and On-the-Job Training Program (İEP) practices included in the 2026 Vocational Training Plan prepared by the İŞKUR Bartın Provincial Directorate.
In the feedback submitted by our members during the Professional Committee Meetings held by the Bartın Chamber of Commerce and Industry in October and November, a serious shortage of qualified labor was observed, particularly in technical fields. In this context, it was stated that the need for personnel is high in the fields of household appliance, white goods and air conditioner repair technicians, that there is a shortage of qualified technicians able to work in technical service operations, and that the shortage of trained staff and skilled workers in the construction sector adversely affects production processes. It was also noted that, because trainee recruitment is limited to a single registration period, employers face difficulties during periods of urgent need, and requests have arisen for the opening of additional periods.
In order to meet the labor needs of our province, it has been requested that information be provided on whether it is possible to plan On-the-Job Training Programs (İEP) or short-term practical vocational training in the fields of household appliance, white goods and air conditioner technician training; whether İEP-based practical training aimed at providing vocational skills for the construction sector can be opened; whether an arrangement to open additional periods for trainee recruitment according to periods of need can be considered; and on the procedures and practices for carrying out these programs in cooperation with our Chamber.
